I'M GOING TO WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!!

So I know it has been ages since I have posted anything but life has been crazy. So as the title of this blog post suggests, I am going to the happiest place on earth. One of the first 2014 Christmas presents I got was an email from the Disney Company saying that I was selected to go work there starting May 5. (For those who do not know me was well I should add that this has been a dream of mine for such a long time.)

I will be working at EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow), or as the Cast Members (employees) who work there like to call it. (Every Pay-check Comes Of Thursday) I will be working in the Canada Pavilion in their Food & Beverage department, starting at their popcorn and beer carts and working my way to the Le Cellier Steakhouse.

So in 41 days I will be moving in to the residents that Disney has for all their cultural exchange cast members as well as the cast members who are part of the college program.

Needless to say I am very excited, and I have a lot to do before the trip down. My hope is to do regular blog posts here. This will not only serve then as a journal for me of this wonderful experience I will have, but it will also help keep all my family and friends posted on my adventures and shenanigans in the Orlando area.

Words of Welcome

I have always wanted to write and keep a blog, and this is the perfect opportunity, since I need to do this as a school assignment anyways. Since this is my last year of school I will be busy with school trying to get back onto honour roll, so I may not publish as often as I hope, but when I will have time I will try and do so.

About Me

I am born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, and have lived at home for the majority of my live, so I cannot wait to move out and go explore the world, once I have finished my schooling. Having all of my grandparents born in the small country of Estonia, has given me many things in life, such as an Estonian passport and citizenship (which can let me travel, and work almost anywhere in Europe that is part of the European Union), the chance to say that I can speak, read and write a language that is used by only 1.5 million people, and a greater awareness of how big the world truly is.
Toronto has the biggest population of Estonians outside of Estonia itself and because of this there are many different Estonian organization that have participated in at one point or another in my life, from girl guides, summer camps, choirs, folk dancing, gymnastics, and language schools. I am grateful to life in a city like Toronto where I can proudly say that in my heart I am Estonian first and Canadian second.
George Brown College, has been my life four going on five years when I finish this year, I will have graduated with a Certificate in H101 Hospitality Services (with Honours), a Diploma in H110 Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure (with Honours) and an Degree in H302 a Bachelor of Applied Business, Hospitality Operations Management (hopefully again with Honours). In addition to this I am currently working on getting my French Proficiency Certificate from George Brown as well, and I should be receiving it at the same time as my degree. I also want to brush up on my Spanish, German and American Sign Language, all which I studied in high school, through George Brown as well.
When I leave George Brown I hope to go work at Walt Disney World down in Florida, in the Canadian Pavilion. I hope to make working at Walt Disney World my permanent job not just a one year contract, and hopefully I will be able to do so, with all my education in Hospitality and Languages from George Brown College.
